Two-Bedroom Detached ADU with Full Kitchen, Living Space, and Laundry in Palo Alto, CA
For this Palo Alto project, Design by M&M built a detached accessory dwelling unit (ADU) designed as a fully independent living space. The new ADU includes two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, comfortable living space, and in-unit laundry, making it well suited for multigenerational living, long-term guest use, or potential rental income.
The goal was to create a separate, self-contained home on the property that feels practical, modern, and comfortable for everyday living. With its own kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, laundry, and private entrance, the ADU provides flexibility for the homeowner while adding meaningful usable square footage and long-term value to the property.
The finished structure has a clean, modern exterior with simple lines, updated windows, and a dedicated entry. Inside, the kitchen was designed with warm wood cabinetry, modern appliances, durable countertops, and efficient storage to make the compact living space feel complete and functional.
